Yoga Therapy
Bodywork* can’t “fix “ anything… but it can certainly help!
I have learned so much about myself (physically, mentally, emotionally, etc) from being on the bodywork table. Hands-on care can…
Facilitate relaxation.
Increase awareness of the body.
Reduce Pain
Provide overall support.
As a practitioner, I try to provide the above to everyone who walks in the door
* bodywork, massage, manual therapy - all of these words are interchangeable.
My main training in hands-on care has been with my mentor, Tom Alden. I have also studied with Leslie Kaminoff and taken seminars in various manual therapy modalities (craniosacral, A.R.T., and others). I received my LMT license from The Massage School in Boston, MA.
What to expect from a session
When you arrive, we’ll take some time to discuss what’s present for you on that day and how I might be able to help.
I encourage folks to wear clothes they are comfortable moving in (e.g., what you would wear to a gym or yoga class).
If you prefer a Swedish massage (where the client is undressed and draped under a sheet), because that’s what has been helpful in the past, I can provide that as well. The most important thing is that we work together in a way that makes you feel at ease and relaxed.
Often, a session will conclude with some integration off the table – a yoga pose or a breathing exercise, depending on what might be helpful to practice on your own following the session.
Each session is an hour long; however, if you email me beforehand, a longer session can sometimes be arranged. Payment is accepted at the end of the session. Tips are not accepted.
Sliding Scale ($70 – $160+)
Suggested Tiers for Bodywork
$160 - Contributing
$130 - Sustaining
$100 - Supporting
$70 - Base
I operate a tiered pricing scale. The tiers are merely a suggestion, as we want you to offer what you are able to pay.
When you can offer more, it helps us a lot to keep these offerings affordable in the face of rising expenses. Even offering $10 more than the base price is helpful and appreciated.
If you’d like to schedule a session and money is a concern, please contact us, and we can discuss what’s possible. If you would like to help someone cover the cost of a session, we can also help with that!
