with Fez Aswat + Ryan Cunningham
This weekend retreat will explore how meditation practice can frame our understanding of postural yoga practice. In this format we can more easily regard the yoga poses themselves as different contexts for meditation. Retreats have been a setting where Fez and Ryan learned to practice in this way and as such they seek to offer this format to our Boston yoga community. Participants gain the added benefit of a focused retreat where one can simply commute to the practice space and then head home, discovering how a period of concentrated practice can be directly applicable to daily life.
Schedule:
Friday May 20 6-8:30pm
Saturday May 21 10-3:30pm
Sunday May 22 10-3:30pm
The weekend will be held at the new Boston Meditation Center in Union Square. It will be a hybrid event - meaning folks can participate in-person or via livestream only. We are asking that only folks who will be fully vaccinated (with a booster) by the time of the retreat sign up for the in-person option.
We understand the ever-changing nature of the pandemic means that we have to be adaptable with our protocols for in person events. We strongly encourage everyone attending in-person to be PCR tested that week and/or rapid tested before they come to the center. If the availability of rapid tests becomes more available we will try to provide some for participants. Of course, we will transition the program fully online if the conditions warrant.
